Kalimpong, Feb. 26: Mahanada Powdel (75) has won the 9th Paras Mani award for his contribution to the Nepali language. He received the award, comprising a memento, a certificate and Rs 10,001, at a ceremony held at Town Hall here today.
Powdel, who hails from Bombasti here, is known for both his fictional and non-fictional works. He has won a number of literary awards in Sikkim, where he worked in the education department.
The annual Paras Mani award is given by Nepali Sahitya Adhiyan Samiti.
