KALIMPONG, Sept. 26. — Pressing upon the demand for the arrest of those involved in assassination of dissident GNLF leader CK Pradhan, the Gorkha National Liberation Front (C) will be holding a 3-day programme on the death anniversary of the leader on 3 October.
The GNLF has also called for a 30- minute total strike on 3 October — the day CK Pradhan was murdered in 2002.
Col (retd) DK Pradhan, brother of the slain leader and chief convener of GNLF(C) said: “ We have decided to observe his death anniversary for three days.”
While the GNLF(C) cadres will be sticking festoons and mike for the programme on 1 and 2 October, a public address will organised at CK Chowk on 3 October.
“We want the people to realise the contribution of CK Pradhan and his urge for the ultimate formation of Gorkhaland. We are also requesting shopkeepers and vehicle owners to close down for 30 minutes in commemoration of the leader”, Col (retd) Pradhan said.The programme to observe the death anniversary will be attended by different GNLF(C) leaders at the CK Chowk , the place where the leader was shot.
The GNLF (C) — the party formed for commemoration of the leader — will complete its third year on 15 November.
